Do I pursue my dream, or my happiness?
I'm currently a junior in high school and I guess you could say I receive above average grades, I'm taking a career technical course in digital graphic design and my teacher thinks I have a knack for it. My future dream job would be to be a character designer of sorts for a gaming company such as Square Enix. I know that that seems a little far-fetched, and would basically force me out of the life I'm living now and into an entirely different one. So here's my question, is it even worth pursuing a dream that is likely out of reach, or do I live the rest of m life happily in the presence of my closest and best friends? They literally mean the world to me, and I know they all would also like to go on and do bigger and better things, but I can't imagine life without any of them. One of my best friends is considering going into public speaking and politics, and I am also very interested in history; if I were to major in history, then a political career may be something to consider, as little as I enjoy politics. Is this something I should even consider? NOTE: I haven't taken my ACT yet, and an SAT score isn't needed for most schools in Ohio.
