A Noun with the same general meaning as 'overwhelmed?'?

I'm writing a story and having a hell of a time with this sentence, at the moment it's written as, "my body was trembling with excitement, fear and a touch of being overwhelmed." but i don't like that, i want it to read along the lines of, "...with excitement, fear and a touch of overwhelmed-ness" but i can't seem to find an actual word that means 'overwhelmed-ness' i read somewhere that you can use 'overwhelm' as a noun (...and a touch of overwhelm.) but despite the fact that it doesn't sound right, i'm a bit of a grammar perfectionist and i don't want to use it incorrectly. i could just kick myself because i have a knack for words and synonyms, but this one is just stumping me. Help?
